Why do parents spoil their kids so much?

this little girl (5 yrs old) i was watching last night (it was a BBQ her parents were playing poker) yelled at me to give her candy and it was like 12 0'clk at night so i told her no because it was to late so she started crying and went to her dad then her dad yelled at me to get her candy!!! so i tryed to distract her but it didn't work so she went and told her dad again and he yelled "get her candy now!" and i didnt know what to do-- i wanted to shove spinach down her throught! but then i decided to dump tons of salt on her candy-(so that if she gave it to her dad she would've already sucked it all off)..............HAHAHA!!!!! the really sad thing about this story is IT WAS MY CANDY!!!! so what do i do if it happens again?
