Box dye VS bleach? Born Blonde Maxi?

I'm trying to go green with Manic Panic Enchanted Forest, but my hair is black right now..so should I just bleach my hair with 30vol.? Because then since my hair is so dark I might have to do it mutiple times to achieve blonde...or should I just do it with regular Nice & Easy box dye, which contains bleach it it? would that be enough to bleach my black hair? Please help! I heard that Born Blonde Maxi sucks, and I don't want to have my hair turn an orangey color with the bleach, or use a toner, because I don't want white hair!
