Can a car outrun a tsunami?

every time I see a video of a tsunami I have to ask this.. A lot of people, when they are given 20 minutes warning that a tsunami is coming try to get atop various apartment complexes that may or may not hold.. My first reaction would be to head to the highway in my car and put the pedal to the metal.. is this a good strategy?
