How do I color my hair at home?

My hair is a very dark brown. a few months ago i decided to go lighter for the first time. i've gotten it highlighted with bleach and toner twice. but I got it done professionally. but my hair grows so fast its hard to keep up with my roots so I want to go dark again. I'd like to do it at home to save money. What should I use? I'm afraid that I'll get a dark brown but it'll turn out an ugly color because of the bleach in my hair
