Help needed for getting over someone that claims to hate you?

we broke up 4 months ago now and it still hurts. i've tried everything but he says he hates me like actually hates me. we were together two years and he was like my best friend then he decided to go to uni which i accepted after crying loads but then he just turned around, dumped me now he suddenly hates my guts? please help what can i do ?
